Our unique and innovative approach to treatment for teens is highly effective. Our Expert Team goes the extra mile to meet kids where they are in life, focusing on introducing and implementing effective coping skills for those struggling with substances, emotions, trauma, and daily challenges as young adults in 2025.
We address the root issues leading you to seek help for your child by discovering their interests or activities they've never had the chance to try. We then build a customized treatment plan centered around their chosen healthy coping skill, supported by our team’s decades of therapeutic experience, supports, and mentors at the Extra Mile Treatment Center.

Monday - Friday 4 - 7pm
Most standard treatment programs are filled with barriers, stigma, wishful thinking and red tape that makes recovery & growth even harder than it needs to be. Traditional Substance Use Treatment Programs provide little more than box checking services and support resources.

At Extra Mile Everything We Do Is Different
The Extra Mile Difference:
Our experienced and dynamic team of specialists has intentionally created a unique and inspiring environment for our patients to discover what they are truly passionate about. From there, we coach youth into pouring themselves into that passion, whether it be a sport, art, music or other healthy activity they choose as their primary coping skill. When traumatized youth begin their journey towards attaching to their passion, it does not feel like any other treatment or mandated services they have experienced previously. Our unique approach goes a long way to reduce the stigma of seeking help through authentic trauma informed approaches in every detail of what we do.
Our Trauma Informed Care mission has always been to help traumatized youth to become self-sufficient and reach their highest potential. This is done by recognizing and meeting our youth where they are at. Additionally, we invest in them by helping them build and access the coping and life skills needed for a healthy life and wellbeing after they leave our Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Program.

Our Innovative & Effective Philosophies & Strategies...
Our trauma-informed therapeutic approaches and behavioral health interventions are based on the Positive Youth Model, emphasizing harm reduction through developing and coaching effective coping and life skills.
Traditional Cognitive Behavioral therapy with rotating therapists does not adequately serve teens with substance use issues. Authentic behavioral health support is essential to address self-medicating, trauma, and loss.
A single substance use curriculum is too limited for vulnerable youth. Effective interventionists need a flexible set of strategies, interventions, and communication techniques.
We do not adhere to a “one size fits all” approach. Instead, we use Evidence-Based Best Practices tailored to each patient. Our services include 12-Step programs, education-focused sessions, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and more. These customized treatment plans consider cultural backgrounds, trauma experiences, and individual pathways to harm reduction and recovery.
